(Mar. 23, 2010) – Former WBA lightweight champion Jose “Jicaras” Alfaro has already defeated two world champions, Prawet Singwancha and DeMarcus Corley, and the Nicaraguan knockout specialist plans to add 3-division world champion Erik “El Terrible” Morales to his hit list Saturday night in “The Champion Returns” pay-per-view event, live from Monterrey, Mexico.
Alfaro (23-5, 20 KOs) takes on Morales (48-6, 34 KOs) in the 12-round main event for the vacant WBC Intercontinental welterweight crown.

LAS VEGAS (Mar. 23, 2010) – Two-time WBA heavyweight champion John “The Quietman” Ruiz has been working hard in his Las Vegas training camp since mid-January in preparation for his April 3 showdown against new WBA World Champion David “Hayemaker” Haye at MEN Arena in Manchester, England.
WBA No. 1 contender Ruiz (44-8-1, 30 KOs), the first and only heavyweight World Champion of Latino heritage, will be fighting in his 12th world title fight. In 2001, Ruiz dropped future Hall of Famer and defending WBA champ Evander Holyfield en route to a title win by 12-round decision in his history-making performance.
Ruiz captured the WBA crown for the second time on Dec. 13, 2003, easily winning a 12-round decision (118-110, 116-112, 115-114) against former World Champion Hasim Rahman for the WBA Interim title, which soon became the outright championship.
During this training camp, Ruiz has been sparring with fighters that resemble the quick, hard-punching Haye. “Everything has been great throughout training camp,” Ruiz reported. “This camp will be the longest I’ve ever trained for a fight. I took a little time-off after my last fight (Nov. 7 vs. Adnan Serin – WTKO7 – in Germany), started running and exercising right after that, and then I went right back into the gym. I’m going to be ready April 3rd for Haye.”

Big Fight Fiasco – Steve ‘USS’ Cunningham Breaks His Silence Over Godfrey Pulling Out And More.
After a long, long fifteen month wait, this coming Friday former IBF Cruiserweight Champion of the World Steve ‘USS’ Cunningham should finally have had the chance to regain the coveted title that he, and many others, believes is rightly his by facing Matt ‘Too Smooth’ Godfrey for the vacant IBF Cruiserweight Crown.
However, following one fiasco after another, first a change of date and location, then with just over a week to go before the fight Don King announced that the fight would be postponed again due to a contract dispute between himself and ESPN, it seems Steve’s hopes of regaining his crown soon are to be dashed yet again.
As King, who had won the purse bid on December 18th ’09, had defaulted on making the fight within 90 days the IBF reacted quickly to try and save this most important of fights.
Kathy Duva’s Main Event’s organisation, who had made the second highest bid, were contacted by the IBF. Main Event’s president Kathy Duva then spoke with ESPN who negotiated with Chicago promoter Daniel Pesoli to place the fight on his existing 26th March show.
