Riverside, CA – The question asked before his fight last Friday on ESPN2 “Friday Night Fights” was whether or not Riverside’s own Josesito Lopez (27-3, 15 KOs) belonged with the current crop of jr. welterweight world contenders?
Dan Goossen, co-promoter of Lopez, along with Thompson Boxing, said it best: “Josesito stole the show Friday and earned his right to be considered with the other world contenders. He belongs!”
The WBC #8 rated super lightweight (140 lbs), Lopez defeated his once beaten opponent Marvin Cordova, Jr. in a hard fought eight round unanimous decision.
“It was a tough fight and throughout each round I felt confident in my skills both offensively and defensively,” said Lopez. “I believe if it was scheduled for 10, I would have stopped him.” Read more… «JOSESITO LOPEZ BELONGS!»
