Erik Morales goes for 50th win Headlining ‘Mexican Fiesta’ PPV show

HOBOKEN, N.J.  – Integrated Sports Media, North America’s undisputed  Pay-Per-View distribution leader of major boxing events, will showcase Mexican great Erik “Terrible” Morales to American boxing fans once again September 11, headlining the   “Mexican Fiesta” pay-per-view event live from Mexico City.

“We’re excited to bring U.S. boxing fans the second comeback fight for living legend Erik Morales, who is the last man to defeat Manny Pacquaio,” Integrated Sports Media president Doug Jacobs said. “It’s a privilege for Integrated Sports Media to air this living legend’s continued comeback. The rest of the card is loaded with interesting fights that insure an entertaining night of boxing.”


“Mexican Fiesta,” presented by Grupo Empresarial Matiz, is being distributed in the United States by Integrated Sports Media for live viewing at 9 PM/ET – 6 PM/PT on both cable and satellite pay-per-view for a suggested retail price of only $29.95.

Three-division world champion Morales (49-6, 34 KOs), who returned this past March 27, after 2 ½ years of inactivity, defeating former WBA lightweight titlist Jose “Jicaras” Alfaro (23-6, 20 KOs) by a 12-round decision for the WBC Intercontinental welterweight crown, is on a mission to become the first Mexican to capture world titles in four different weight classes.

Morales goes for his 50th career win in the 12-round main event on “Mexican Fiesta” against WBU lightweight champion Willie “Hands of Steel” Limond (33-2, 8 KOs), of Scotland, for the vacant WBC Diamond Super Lightweight Championship.

One of the most revered Mexican fighters of all-time, Morales’ list of victims over the years reads like a Who’s Who list of boxing stars: Manny Pacquiao, Marco Antonio Barrera, Pauli Ayala, Wayne McCullough, Junior Jones, Carlos Hernandez, Jesus Chavez, Guty Espada, Jr. (twice), Daniel Zaragoza and Kevin Kelly.

Former WBC Light Flyweight Champion Edgar Sosa (39-6, 23 KOs) takes on European flyweight titlist Andrea Sarritzu (34-4-4, 12 KOs), of Italy, in the 12-round co-feature for the WBC International Flyweight Championship.

In a female super flyweight battle of champions, WBC titlist Ann Marie “La Guerrera” Torres (21-3-2, 13 KOs), of Mexico, takes on WIBF and GBU champion Alesia “The Tigress” Graf (25-1, 9 KOs), of Germany, in a 10-round title bout fpr the WBC World Cup Super Flyweight Championship.

Unbeaten Juan Carlos “Miniburgos” Burgos (24-0, 16 KOs), WBC CABOFE Featherweight Champion, goes against Filipino upset specialist Joan de Guai in a 12-round match for the WBC Youth Featherweight Championship.

A pair of 25-year-olds from Mexico City, WBC CABOFE lightweight champ Daniel “Tremendo” Estrada (23-1-1, 19 KOs) and WBC Continental Americas title-holder Rey Sanchez, square-off in a 12-round match for the WBC Silver Lightweight Championship.

WBC Youth Lightweight champion Ramon “Nino de Oro” Ayala (18-1-1, 8 KOs), a 21-year-old Mexico protégé of another Mexican fighting icon, Marco Antonio Barrera, defends his crown against Panamanian gatekeeper Armando “El Policia” Cordova, former NABA super featherweight champion, in a 10-rounder.
