WHAT: Current Unified Lightweight World Champion Juan Manuel Marquez, Former World Champion Sergio Mora, Mexican Boxing Phenom Saul Alvarez, Rising Junior Welterweight Contender Victor Ortiz, former World Champion Daniel Ponce De Leon and Rising Junior Welterweight Star Frankie Gomez will appear in the Bicentennial Mexican Independence Day Parade in East Los Angeles kicking off “200: CELEBRATE AND DOMINATE” fight week activities. Fighters will be riding down East Cesar Chavez Ave. in decorated DeWalt Tools trucks.

Parade begins at the intersection of East Cesar Chavez Ave. and Indiana St., continues down East Cesar Chavez and ends at N. Mednik Ave.

FACTS:  “200: CELEBRATE AND DOMINATE” Mosley vs. Mora is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate, DeWalt Tools and AT&T.  The special night of boxing set for Saturday, September 18 at STAPLES Center is an official event of the Mexican Bicentennial celebration in Los Angeles, Calif.  The night will be headlined by Five-Time World Champion Sugar Shane Mosley facing off against former World Champion Sergio “The Latin Snake” Mora in a 12-round junior middleweight showdown and will also feature Alvarez taking on former World Champion Carlos “Tata” Baldomir and Ortiz against former World Champion “Vicious” Vivian Harris.  Opening up the pay-per-view broadcast will be De Leon squaring off against number two world rated featherweight Antonio Escalante in a WBO Featherweight Title Elimination bout.  The event will be produced and distributed live on HBO Pay-Per-View® beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

“Fiesta de la Independencia,” a two-day celebration of the Mexican Bicentennial will feature live fights with Solo Boxeo Tecate, the official Mosley vs. Mora weigh-in, autograph sessions by boxing legends, live music, sponsor activations and exhibits, Mexican themed concessions provided by the Patina Restaurant Group, a beer garden and much more including a live concert by legendary band Conjunto Primavera Friday night after Solo Boxeo, will begin Friday, September 17 in L.A. Live Parking Lot 7 at noon.  Tickets for “Fiesta de la Independencia,” priced at $10 plus service charges for general admission on Friday (which includes standing room for Solo Boxeo Tecate) and Saturday and $30 plus service charges for Friday admission plus a reserved seat for the Solo Boxeo Tecate fights, are on sale now and available for purchase in advance at www.beticketing.com or on site at the “Fiesta de la Independencia” main entrance on 11th Street.
