Rhodes to Zuhdi: “Step Up and Fight Me”!

Rhodes to Zuhdi: “Step Up and Fight Me”!

Spencer, OK  – Lightweight up and comer Lydell Rhodes is sick of hearing about interstate rival Noah Zuhdi.
The reigning catBOX champion, Zuhdi, 15-1 (12 KO’s), is wildly popular in his hometown of Oklahoma City and receives a good amount of press to go along with his fanfare. Rhodes doesn’t think he deserves it.
“I know Noah’s a smart guy because he’s also a lawyer,” said Rhodes. “I’m currently college but the difference between us is that I’m a fighter who goes to school and he’s a lawyer that happens to box. The problem is he goes around Oklahoma claiming he’s the best. If you think you’re the best, prove it!”
Rhodes, the HD Boxing titlist, also believes there is no use in waiting to make it happen since both men are from the same state and fight in the same weight class.
“Only one of us can be the best 135 pound fighter in this area, so we should get in the ring and fight. We all know that you’ve been fighting a bunch of guys with no pulse and people are sick of seeing mismatches. I’m ready to fight and it’s on his team to make this happen. People ask me about fighting Zuhdi and I’m tired of biting my tongue about the fight. If it did happen, I’d stop him without a doubt because he’s not on my level. As a matter of fact, if he went the distance with me but still lost, I’d give him my purse and we can put that in the contract!”

Under the guidance of Floyd Mayweather Sr. Rhodes is a perfect 10-0 with 5 wins by knockout. Earlier this year, Rhodes scored a dominant 8 round decision over experienced Ira Terry (24-7) and is looking to take another step in the right direction. The Spencer native, who fought seven of his ten bouts in OKC under the HD Boxing Promotions banner, has the support of his team in making the highly anticipated title bout against Zuhdi.
“We would love to make the fight with (Zuhdi’s promotional company) catBOX Entertainment,” stated Bobby Dobbs of HD Boxing. “Both fighters have titles in Oklahoma and fight for the crowd. With that said, Zuhdi isn’t remotely on Lydell’s level and I’d love to see him prove what we both believe!”
