CHICAGO  – After making an impressive showing in their pro debuts, Chicago phenom’s Kenneth Sims Jr. (1-0) and Eduardo Martinez (1-0) speak on their performances.  Promoted by Gary Shaw Productions and Antonio Leonard Promotions, Sims and Martinez will look to get back in the ring very soon.

“I felt very comfortable fighting as a professional for the first time,” said Sims Jr. “My plan was to relax and let my hands go at the right time.  I realize that going to the body is very important in the pros because it slows down your opponent.  The punch that sent my opponent to the canvas was a nice left hook to the liver.  I’m going to take this experience and grow with each fight.  Gary Shaw and Antonio Leonard are the best in the business and I can’t wait to step back in the ring.”

“I love fighting in the pros because the rounds are longer and I can see better without the headgear,” Martinez said. “I love to come forward and put a lot of pressure on my opponents and I feel I can do that better in the pros because the referee lets you fight without any hesitation.  I know that moving my head is the key to not taking a flush punch.  I’m going to continue to work on the little things that will make me a better pro.  I want to thank my promoters Gary Shaw and Antonio Leonard for giving me the opportunity to fight and such a great card.  Fighting in front of a live crowd was motivating.”

“I have big plans for these kids,” stated Gary Shaw. “I was impressed by the way they kept their composure throughout their fights.  You can see that their amateur experience was vital for them as they made adjustments.  GSP is starting to build a new crop of fighters and I’m extremely happy that Sims and Martinez are part of my stable.”

“I knew when Gary and I signed Sims and Martinez we had something special in both of them,” said Antonio Leonard. “They both work very hard and know what needs to be done to take their careers to then next level.  I’m looking forward to their next fight.”
