Erik Morales and Edgar Sosa Updates

Erik Morales and Edgar Sosa Updates

Erik Morales and Edgar Sosa recently visited the Raul “Raton” Macîas gymnasium as invited guests of former champion Isaac “Tortas” Bustos.

Sosa entertained the public with an open workout as he prepared to face Pilipino fighter Ryan Bito for the WBC International Flyweight title on September 11th at the Monumental Bullring of Mexico City. Moreales goes for his 50th career win vs. Willie Limond in the main event.

Quotes of Note

Eric Morales: “I’m very happy to interact with the people once again, something I have not done since 2002 when I was promoting fights in the United States. I thought it was beautiful that they played “Las Mañanitas” for me. Winning a world title in my fourth division is my objective.  I work hard to be able to do it, but everything is little by little to get to the fourth world title.  There have been talks with the people from Golden Boy Promotions about a fight with Juan Manuel Marquez.”

Edgar Sosa: “I am bound step by step towards the flyweight title. I feel great physically and energetically.  It is always great to interact up close with the fans that support us. Each day I feel like I am in better physical condition for the great Bicentennial Gala. I have not abandoned my dream of fighting for the WBC World Flyweight title, currently held by Pongsakiek Wonjongkam of Thailand, but what is important right now is to only think about his battle with Ryan Bito.”

Barrett Wins War Of Words – Alexander Vows His Fists Will Do The Talking On 11th Sept.

The heated war of words, between former English Super Bantamweight Champion Ryan Barrett and Mark ‘The Flash’ Alexander, ahead of their eagerly awaited International Masters title clash on the Steve Goodwin ‘It’s Personal’ double title show at York Hall, Bethnal Green, London, on Saturday the 11th September, finally boiled over last night, during their appearance on Steve Bunce’s BBC Radio London Boxing Hour Show.

Ironically the opening salvo of the hostilities was fired by Alexander with his publicly calling out Barrett on Bunce’s show back in May.

Barrett retaliated with a bombardment of vitriolic comments in the press, such as, “He is scared of me and will try to run away all night but I will track him down and knock him out”

“He doesn’t exist in my World. I have no respect for the man. He’s upset the wrong person. All I’ll say to him is just run and hide.”
