PANAMA CITY, Panama  -Undefeated Puerto Rican boxer Thomas Dulorme improved his record to (13-0, 10 KO’s) with a dominating, nine-round unanimous decision last night against world title contender Charlie Jose Navarro (20-5, 15 KO’s), at Roberto Duran Arena in Panama. The judges scored the bout 89-81, 89-81 and 90-80, all in favor of Dulorme.

Dulorme was in control of the fight from start to finish. He showed his guts and courage against an opponent who did not yield to the attack. Dulorme won the fight by relying on his speed and combinations versus the Venezuelan.

“I feel really well and thrilled with the achievement,” Duloreme said. “Navarro is a great fighter and I feel like I beat the world champion because I saw his fight with Senchenko (reigning WBA champion) and that was close. This experience will help me improve a lot and achieve my goals in boxing,” said Dulorme, who is promoted by Universal Promotions, Gary Shaw Productions and DiBella Entertainment.

HILARIOUS RESULT OF HOPKINS-DAWSON

HILARIOUS RESULT OF HOPKINS-DAWSON
“WRESTLING MATCH-UP”

By Reni M. Valenzuela

When you say red when it is blue, that’s miserable. But when you answer three when one
is added to one, that’s hopeless. The former is caused by poor sight or blindness, while the
latter’s problem is in the brain.

The Hopkins-Dawson Light Heavyweight championship bout is one of the most bizarre and
hilarious fights I have seen all my life, not only because of the wrestling move (without a
punch) that Chad Dawson did to “knock-out” Bernard Hopkins. But more so on account of
the “expertly” act of the referee and judges to come to a unanimous conclusion of a” knock-
out” win in the fight where there is none, and to see “no foul” committed by Dawson when the
opposite obvious can’t be more naked and bare before millions of eyes who watched the show.

Since when boxing has become wrestling? Funny, or the official judgment of the fight may
lead you to become paranoid if you try to figure it out. Yet at once the news spread and media
appears “retired” to the lousy outcome as headlines are plain as this, “Dawson wins by TKO” or
“Hopkins considers retirement after TKO loss to Dawson.” Now talk about hope for boxing.

My fifteen year-old son who is in high school saw the replay of the bout with me on local TV
and he laughed out loud in “amazement” to hear the verdict that Dawson won by TKO.

The issue is very elementary. Therefore the next time that an important boxing match up such
as the Hopkins-Dawson and Mayweather-Ortiz is to be staged, it would do well for boxing to
do away with “experts” and just let some simple-minded high school students do the job as
referees and judges.

That, I think, would help bring life back to a weakening “bed-ridden” sport.

Dawson & DeMarco win world titles

Dawson defeats Hopkins, Tony DeMarco wins WBC lightweight title, dramatic 11th round TKO of Linares

LOS ANGELES  – Challenger “Bad” Chad” Dawson defeated defending WBC and Ring Magazine light heavyweight champion Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins in Saturday night’s main event on the “Believe It Or Not!: Hopkins vs. Dawson” card, presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Gary Shaw Productions, on HBO PPV at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The title fight ended in controversy because Hopkins (52-6-2, 32 KOs) was unable to continue due to a left shoulder injury suffered in the second round when he landed on the canvas. Referee Pat Russell ruled that there was no foul, awarding a TKO win to Dawson (31-1, 18 KOs), who captured the WBC and Ring Magazine championships.

Mexican lightweight Antonio “Tony” DeMarco(26-2-1, 12 KOs) became world champion for the second time in his pro career, defeating Jorge Linares (31-2) by 11thround technical knockout to capture the vacant WBC title. Trailing by scores of 99-91 and 98-92 (twice) going into the 11th round, DeMarco belted a bloodied Linares around the ring until referee Raul Caiz, Sr. halted the action at 2:23 for a dramatic comeback win by Demarco.

Unbeaten junior welterweight Danny “Swift” Garciawon a 12-round split decision versus former world champion Kendall “Rated R” Holt (27-5, 15 KOs) for the vacant NABO title in an eliminator for the WBC #1 and IBF #2 positions.
