Karim Mayfield Signs with Prize Fight Promotions, Returns June 17, 2011 on ESPN 2 Friday Night Fights

San Francisco – After signing a three year contract with Prize Fight Boxing Promotions, undefeated welterweight prospect, Karim “Hard Hitta” Mayfield (13-0-1, 8 KO’s), makes his way back to the ring after a one year layoff.

The hard punching Mayfield who hails from San Francisco California, will battle Steve Forbes (35-9, 11 KO’s) in a ten round bout.  The fight is set to take place in Austin, Texas on Friday June 17, 2011 and will be televised live on ESPN 2 Friday Night Fights as the Co-Feature to Fernando Guerrero (21-0, 16 KO’s) vs. Michael Medina (24-3-2, 19 KO’s).

“It’s been tough getting fights over the course of my career but I’m ready to go,” said Mayfield. “Steve Forbes is a veteran fighter that has fought some high quality guys and I expect his experience will be a challenge.  Now that I’ve signed with Prize Fight I feel my career will take off.”

“Karim is just the type of fighter that boxing needs.  An action packed fighter willing to fight anybody, anywhere, any time.  We are excited to be part of Team Mayfield’s journey to the top.  A journey, for us, that will begin with June 17th against Steve Forbes on ESPN”, stated Prize Fight’s Russ Young.

Mayfield, who recently spent a few months in camp with pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao continued, “After sparring with Manny my confidence is at an all time high because Pacquiao brought out the best in me.  The experience I gained being in camp with him can only make me better.”

KARIM MAYFIELD ANNOUNCES HIS RELEASE FROM MANAGERIAL CONTRACT

San Francisco, CA – Boxing’s undefeated welterweight sensation, Karim “Hard Hitta” Mayfield (11-0-1, 7 KO’s), is now a free agent after his managerial contract with Jackie Kallen has concluded.

Mayfield, a rising star from San Francisco, is looking to explore his options with other managers.

“I want to thank Jackie Kallen for her guidance and insight while she was managing my career these past three years,” said Mayfield. “I’ve honored my obligations as a fighter and now I feel its time to look at other opportunities. Everyone knows I’ve been tested against several undefeated fighters in their own backyards and came out victorious. I’m a hard worker who’s hungry to get to the top. I’m excited about my next fight scheduled for March 19, 2010 in Reno NV, under the “Let’s Get It On” promotional banner. If given the chance, I feel I have the talent to become a world champion.”

Karim Mayfield Puts Undefeated Record On The Line March 19

March 2, 2010 – San Francisco’s highly respected welterweight prospect, Karim “Hard Hitta” Mayfield (11-0, 7 KO’s) puts his undefeated record on the line March 19, 2010 when he faces Jason Davis (11-5, 3 KO’s) in a scheduled six round bout, set to take place at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno NV on the “Let’s Get It On” Promotions “Reno Xtreme Fights III” card.

Mayfield vs Davis, the co-feature to the main event featuring Brandon “Flawless” Gonzales (10-0, 9 KO’s) vs. Darnell Boone (16-14, 6 KO’s), will be part of a fantastic night of fights, featuring both boxing and mixed martial arts action.

Training in HoustonTX, Mayfield is excited to return to the ring as he stated, “I’m happy to be fighting for Terry and Tommy Lane from “Let’s Get It On” Promotions.  Their father Mills Lane was one of my favorite referee’s to watch and I’m looking to grow with them.  I want to stay busy and fight for a ranking title by the end of the year.  My goal is to shine and give the fans their money’s worth.  Right now I’m training with Virgil Hunter and the Andre Ward camp.  Everything is going good and I’ll be ready for war come fight night”
