LOS ANGELES – Thinking ‘outside-the-box’ is the vision of King Sports Worldwide.  Converting the Barker Hangar into a premier boxing venue, featuring ultra-VIP ringside suites, close-to-the-action seating, and the electric atmosphere of a Hollywood movie premiere meets that vision.  So to does announcing veteran actor and renowned comedian Kevin Pollak as the master of ceremonies.  And, there is more to come.

Today, King Sports announced Kevin Pollak, long-time actor and comedian, who shares the same passion for boxing as Michael King, will serve as master of ceremonies for “Boxing at Barker,” Wednesday, April 16, 2014.  His involvement compliments the hard-hitting fight card featuring a collection of boxing’s most exciting, young professional fighters that promises to deliver extremely competitive toe-to-toe competition.

“We want to bring together world-class, competitive boxing and entertainment to make ‘Boxing at Barker’ an event like no other,” said Michael King, President, King Sports Worldwide. “Kevin shares my passion for boxing and King Sports mission to re-think what fans come to expect when they attend a boxing event.”

Pollak began his stand-up comedy career at age 20 and has starred in several of his own one-hour TV specials. Comedy Central named him one of the top 100 comedians of all time. Pollak is an award-winning actor, who has co-starred in over 70 films, including “A Few Good Men,” “The Usual Suspects” and “Casino.” Most recently he’s been added to the cast of the CBS hit comedy, “Mom,” starring Anna Faris and Allison Janney.

“When Michael asked me to participate in his ‘Boxing at Barker’ project it was a no-brainer,” said Pollak.  “Michael is totally committed to fulfill a cutting-edge vision for the sport, that infuses his entertainment acumen into boxing and that is something I am behind 100 percent.”

King Sports vision for “Boxing at Barker” is to entertain the fans from start-to-finish not only in the ring, but also between fights.  Pollak will bring a persona unlike nothing ever seen during a boxing event and that entertaining approach is a key factor that will differentiate “Boxing at Barker.” Transforming the 35,000-square foot hangar for a one night event, promises to be extremely exciting for a small number of boxing fans who will see it the only way possible – live inside the Barker Hangar.
