AMANDA SERRANO QUOTES:

On fighting on the first-ever championship boxing event live on TikTok:

I am so happy and honored that was the first championship main event fight on TikTok, guys. Super excited, super honored.

On Manzur’s performance:

I knew she was tough. She’s young. She’s 27. She’s 10 years younger than me. These girls are getting younger, stronger. Thank God I’m almost out of the game. Let them have fun, but it was truly an honor to be in there with a tough young fighter.

On preparing to face Manzur:

I trained really hard because I knew it was an opportunity for her. I was told every time I’m given an opportunity, you seize that opportunity. I know all these girls who are fighting me are doing the same thing, so I had to come with my A game.

On what’s next for her:

We still got that 33rd knockout. I got one more fight. If I don’t get it, I’m glad that I tied with Christy Martin.

On securing her 50th win:

I got the 50th win. That’s a milestone on its own.

On her journey to retirement:

I was going to retire being a seven-division world champion and broke. Thank God MVP came along. They gave me a chance. I seized that opportunity. I made them believe in women’s boxing, and look at us now.

On TikTok showcasing women’s boxing:

Thank you, TikTok, for believing in women’s boxing. Let’s go. This is the first, and I’m hoping it’s not the last.

JAHMAL HARVEY QUOTES:

On his thoughts on the night:

Crazy night, man. Still wrapping my head around it. Just want to give a huge thanks to MVP.

On earning MVP’s Performance of the Night Bonus:

I got to showcase my talent, and I got to get a performance bonus on top of it. It’s just the icing on the cake.

On wanting to give the best performances:

I love to win. I’m competitive, so every fight they had those [bonuses], I’m competitive to have the best performance.

On if he thought he’d secure a knockout:

Definitely. Just from my last fight, I’m learning more and more. Well, every fight. I feel like I got the method now. Like, I feel like I really turned into something dangerous in this sport with how I go about breaking people down in a pro game.

On being a potential knockout of the year contender:

I’ve still got more fights to come in the year, so I’ve got to top that performance. It just gives me something to work harder for.

On what’s next for him:

I’m ready to really get back in the gym. Hopefully I get a fight day soon. I want to be super active, and I just want to keep growing.

MELISSA MORTENSEN QUOTES:

On capturing the WBA super bantamweight world title:

It means a lot. It’s one of the biggest belts, and now I can bring it home to Denmark. I’m really proud of myself.

On fighting in the US and in front of global viewers live on TikTok:

This is a dream for me to be here on such a big stage. Since I was a little girl, I’ve dreamed of boxing here in the United States with so many people.

On future opponents:

I will take every fight that comes. I’m ready for everybody.

On representing Danish boxing with fellow champion Dina Thorslund:

I think Denmark is showing the world that we are coming here. We are good fighters, and we’re ready to show the world we can box on such a big stage.

On her supporters in Denmark:

I have not had time to look at my phone yet, but my old club has gotten some people

together and they woke up really early to see my fights. Everybody was cheering and was really happy for my win, so that means a lot.

AVIOUS GRIFFIN QUOTES:

On what’s next for him:

Like I mentioned earlier after my post-fight interview, [the goal is] top 15 [across] sanctioning bodies or we can go do a homecoming and sell my city out. Whatever the team is ready for, whatever my coach is ready for, we’re ready.

On when he will pursue a world title:

I leave that type of decision in my coach’s hands. Whenever he says we’re ready to go get them, we’re ready to go get them

On knocking out Marinez:

I noticed like in the second round that my shots I landed a good shot in the second round. I knew it was getting to him.

On his plan to face Marinez:

The plan was just to go to the body, stay patient, don’t get hit with nothing crazy, and just walk him down.

On preparing to face Marinez:

I knew what to expect from him, so I was able to dictate the show.

On fighting live on TikTok:

It was a historic moment. So, that’s got to be one of my biggest moments. But, you know, it wasn’t my biggest knockout, so that’s the only problem.
