Karen Lizarazo Set to Perform at the 2026 Latin Grammy Premiere

Miami, FL – Colombian singer Karen Lizarazo, one of the leading voices of the new generation of vallenato, has been announced by The Latin Recording Academy® as one of the artists set to perform at the 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY Premiere®, taking place on Thursday, November 12, in Las Vegas. Her participation comes at a particularly significant moment in her career, following her third Latin GRAMMY nomination for her latest album, El Tiempo Perfecto, in the Best Cumbia/Vallenato Album category.

For the second consecutive year, Karen Lizarazo stands as the only woman nominated in her category, adding this recognition to her previous nominations in 2020 for Voz de Mujer and in 2025 for De Amor Nadie Se Muere. Her appearance at the Premiere marks another milestone in a career dedicated to opening doors for women in vallenato, bringing her artistic identity, powerful vocals, and Colombian musical roots to one of Latin music’s most prestigious stages.

This performance comes amid the continued success of El Tiempo Perfecto, a 12-track album that marked Karen’s return to the traditional essence of vallenato. To bring the project to life, the artist relocated to Valledupar, surrounding herself with musicians, accordionists, and songwriters deeply connected to the genre, including Rolando Ochoa, Sergio Luis Rodríguez, Carlos Rueda, and Melkis Suárez, alongside a new generation of composers. The album, which features songs such as “Enamórate de Mi” and “El Valle es el Valle,” recognized as the song of the 2025 Vallenato Festival, as well as “Te Vas Pa’l Carajo” and “La Pastillita,” the latter featuring legendary vallenato artist Farid Ortiz, explores themes of love, heartbreak, resilience, and personal growth, reflecting a period of artistic maturity and a renewed connection with his roots.

The Latin GRAMMY Premiere® will take place at the MGM Conference Center Marquee Ballroom in Las Vegas, beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT. During the ceremony, where the majority of Latin GRAMMY Awards are presented, Karen will join a lineup of performers that includes Pablo Alborán, Jorge Celedón, Gusi, Carminho, Akapellah, Yerai Cortés, Kakalo, Víctor Nain Jr., and Marina Sena. The event will be hosted by Lila Downs, Daniela Mercury, and Niña Pastori, bringing together distinguished artists and creators from across Ibero-American music genres.

The 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards® will take place later that evening at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, airing live on Univision beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT (7:00 p.m. Central), preceded by a one-hour pre-show.
