WINDHOEK, Namibia—Former World Boxing Association lightweight champion Paulus “The Hitman” Moses (27-1, 19 KOs) will face Brazilian lightweight champion Sidney Siqueira (16-5-1, 10 KOs) on Saturday at the Windhoek Country Club Resort in his hometown of Windhoek, Namibia.
Moses traveled to Japan in 2008 and defeated Yusuke Kobori to win the WBA lightweight crown.  He lost the title in a showdown against then-WBA interim lightweight champion Miguel Acosta on May 29, 2010.

Moses subsequently responded with two wins—both over opponents from Argentina and both matches took place at the Windkhoek Country Club Resort in the capital city of Namibia.  He scored a fourth-round technical knockout over Sergio Omar Priotti on Nov. 25, 2010, and he dispatched Miguel Lombardo with a first-round knockout in his last outing on March 19.

Moses and his promoter Don King are hoping to line up another world championship bid if Moses can notch a win against Siqueira on Saturday.

“I believe in Paulus Moses and I know he will realize his dream of regaining a lightweight world championship,” King said from his office in Deerfield Beach, Fla.  “Paulus is a strong guy that I plan to have in a world championship match after he is victorious on Saturday in Windhoek.”

Moses appreciates his promoter’s support and enjoys fighting in his hometown.

“Me and my fans in Namibia will help Don King send another message to the boxing world that I should be given another chance to compete for a title,” Moses said.  “If I remain vigilant, my time will come.”
