CALIFORNIA – After seeing a specialist, x-rays showed that Bruno “The Aloha Kid” Escalante (13-1-1, 6 KOs) was fighting with two broken bones in his left hand during this IBA Super-Flyweight title defense against Victor Ruiz (12-3, 9 KOs). Escalante showed tremendous grit as he continued fighting when the injury occurred in the 2nd round. The injury will likely keep Escalante out of the ring for 3 months.
