“Vicious” Vivian Harris in top form, ready for Ortiz

Vivian Harris is counting down the days until Saturday, September 18. The former world champion is preparing for what he calls a “war” against Victor Ortiz. Harris is looking to get his name back in the championship mix by knocking off the young contender in impressive fashion.

For the last 6 weeks Harris (29-4-1, 19 KOs) has been in an intense training camp and looks to be in the best shape of his career.

“This fight right here is very important to me,” said Harris from his home in Carlstadt, NJ. “I’m training for a war with Victor Ortiz, I am going to leave it all in the ring. I feel great right now I can’t wait to fight, it’s going to be a great night.”

Harris stated that a victory would put him in line for a title shot against one of the 140-lb champions whether it’s WBA king Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KOs), WBO titlist Tim Bradley (26-0, 11 KOs) or IBF and WBC champ Devon Alexander (21-0, 13 KOs).

“My main focus right now is Victor Ortiz. He is in my way. Its my job to remove him from my path back to the championship, after that, I’m more than ready for any one of those guys.”

Both fighters share the nickname “Vicious”, but after the fight Harris says only one will be left standing.

Harris (29-4, 19 KOs) takes on Victor Ortiz (27-2, 21 KOs) as a part of the undercard for the Shane Mosley vs. Sergio Mora main event. The card will be live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles at 9 p.m ET/6 p.m PT on HBO PPV.
